Annual Reports

Eat Well Tasmania is a State-wide program that provides support and assistance for activities or projects that promote enjoyable healthy eating.

Our Goal

To improve the nutritional wellbeing of all Tasmanians and contribute to the reduction of diet related health problems, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and some cancers by maximising the impact of food and nutrition promotion.

Eat Well Tasmania aims to improve the nutritional wellbeing of all Tasmanians and support the local food industry by:

  • Promoting increased awareness of the importance of healthy food choices, especially of Tasmanian origin.
  • Increasing the level of inter-sectoral action in nutrition promotion.
  • Coordinating and raising the profile of projects, activities and campaigns consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Australians.

How will you benefit?

Eat Well Tasmania can help you:

  • Find others to work with.
  • Develop a nutrition promotion idea or project.
  • Raise the profile of your project through media networks.
  • Link with the broader nutrition network through use of the Eat Well Tasmania symbol, which is readily recognised throughout the community.
  • Identify and source funding, sponsorship and in-kind support.
  • Access promotional resources and nutrition information including a range of vegetable and fruit costumes guaranteed to attract attention!

The range of activities that can promote enjoyable healthy eating is limited only by your imagination! If your ideas promote delicious and nutritious options in line with the Dietary Guidelines for Australians, Eat Well Tasmania would like to help put your ideas into action! Check out our News and Events page for ideas on promoting good nutrition, including information on hiring our popular fruit and vegetable character costumes.
