The Communities for Children initiative is funded by the Australian Government as part of the Stronger Families and Communities Strategy. The target audience for the project is families with children under the age of five in the Burnie area. The four action areas are nutrition, oral health, breastfeeding and physical activity. Some information about our various strategies is listed below. Poster campaignEat Right Grow Bright has produced a series of four promotional posters to encourage healthy eating, physical activity, oral health and breastfeeding. Developed by local artist Khan Wilson, with input from local parents, these posters can be seen in various locations within the Burnie community. To complement the posters a number of other resources such as stickers, display kits and fact sheets have been developed to support organisations within the community to run activities. If you work within the Burnie community and would like a copy of the posters please contact Kate DePaoli on (03) 6440 7006 or Emily Shepherd on (03) 6431 5802. |
