Dorset Community House

Vegetables for sale, seed library, and emergency relief in Scottsdale
North - Autumn - Vegetables

The produce from Dorset Community House come from local farmers and their own community garden in Scottsdale, Tasmania.

Behind the community house is where they plant, grow and harvest seasonal vegetables, fruits, herbs and produce – all year round! Depending on the time of year, you might see a forest of sweet corn, juicy capsicum, vibrant zucchinis, pumpkins and more.

Harvested with the help of their fabulous volunteers, produce is available to the community for low and affordable prices. Give them a call to see what is available currently.

The community house also provides emergency relief including fresh fruit and vegetables, staples (canned goods, flour, rice, pasta etc) and dignity packs (toiletries) for everyone. Visit their Facebook page, or give them a call for more details.

You’ll also find a community seed library at the community house. This means anyone is able to come and select seasonal seed to grow at home. The seed library operates like a street book library. The seed is free to take! If you do have any excess seed to place in the library, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you also have excess vegies in your garden to share, or items to donate, feel free to also get in touch!
