A Dinner Party With Purpose
Our final community dinner party for 2025 was a blast — guests gathered for a dinner party with a twist. Together, we flipped the script on food waste — serving up three courses of rescued, seasonal deliciousness curated by chef and food waste whisperer Sam Bray.
It was more than a meal. It was a moment of shared learning, where everyday eaters, food justice leaders, and creative thinkers came together to explore what it means to care — for our food, our planet, and each other.
With Balkan beats in the air and bold ideas on the table, the night sparked conversations that matter. Huge thanks to our inspiring panel:
✨ Djuker Willis Hart — cultural guide & creative
✨ Alana Mann — media professor & food systems thinker
✨ Vanessa Ward — UTAS Design Course Coordinator & regenerative designer
✨ Ruby Fox — TUSA Southern Campus President
✨ and of course, Sam Bray — the culinary force behind the menu.
This zero-waste feast was made possible thanks to our incredible partners:
💚 Tasmanian University Student Association (TUSA)
💚 City of Hobart
💚 Healthy Tasmania
Every ticket helped support TUSA’s Food Hub, feeding food-insecure students — and every plate told a story of care, creativity, and connection.
