Somercotes Cherries

North - Summer - Fruit

Fresh Tasmanian cherries grown in the historic town of Ross.

Located in Tasmania’s midlands – the climate of cold winters and hot dry summers is ideal for cherry production. The cool winter chilling allows for bud initiation and the heat of summer yields high sugars and quality fruit.

Somercotes orchard was established in 1823. This is a family-owned business continuing to this day, with their farm shop selling cherries 7 days a week during the season.

Somercotes are also the only cherry stop on the Midlands Highway between Launceston and Hobart. With historic accommodation, meeting rooms and farm shop, Somercotes is a unique and delicious destination.
